Duncan Edwards 

 

English footballer who played for Manchester United and also for the England national team.He was just 16 years old when he played his first match for United. Duncan played under manager Matt Busby and he was one of eight players, who died in Munich air disaster.

 

 

Bobby Charlton

 

Sir Robert "Bobby" Charlton played for Manchester United 17 league seasons. He appeared in 606 league games and scored 199 goals. In the England national team he played 106 games scoring 49 goals. Charlton is still involved with United as member of the board of directors at Manchester United.

 

 

 

Dennis Law


United supporters called him "The King" or "The Lawman". He spent 11 years in Manchester United with scoring 237 goals in 404 appearances. Law also played for United rivals Manchester City and many fans disliked him for scoring the goal for City in 1974 that relegated Manchester United, but after time almost everybody forgave him because of his great career in Manchester United.

 

George Best


 Best was discovered in Belfast by United when he was 15 and two years later he made his debut for this club. He played 361 league games for united scoring 137 goals. Unfortunately, Best suffered from alcoholism and it leaded to his many problems such as prison sentence for drunk driving, kidney failure and at end his death in 2005, aged just 59. He has many supporters in Manchester but also in North Ireland and his city Belfast. Belfast City Airport was renamed to "George Best Belfast City Airport" as a tribute to Best.

 

Bryan Robson


Robson is known as United’s longest ever serving captain. He played 345 times for the club, scoring 74 goals, and also recorded 90 caps for England, scoring 25 goals. In 2008 he returned to United, 14 years after he played his last match for this club. Robson returned to Manchester United to work as an ambassador. He works alongside Bobby Charlton to help United promote its commercial and charitable aims.

 

Ryan Giggs


This Welsh footballer still plays for Manchester United. His first debut was in season 1990/91 and during his long career in United he has won 12 Premier League winner's medals, 4 FA Cup winner's medals, 3 League Cup winner's medals and 2 Champions League winner's medals.Giggs is known for his accurate passes, tireless running, creating goalscoring chances and for his discipline. Giggs has never been sent off when playing for United and only once when playing for Wales.

 

Peter Schmeichel



The Danish star is known as the best goalkeeper who played for United. Schmeichel was voted the "World's Best Goalkeeper" in 1992 and 1993. In United shirt he appeared 292 times. He won 5 Premier League titles in just 7 years as well as the Champions League and the FA Cup three times.

 

Eric Cantona


This Frenchman is known as "King Eric" in Manchester and while he was playing in Manchester United he won 4 Premier League titles in just 5 years and 2 League and FA Cup Doubles. For United he played 143 games scoring 64 goals and he is also often regarded as key player in the revival of Manchester United as a footballing force and he enjoys iconic status at the club.

 

Gary Neville


Neville is an English former footballer and he was Manchester United's club captain for five years. Gery Neville spent his entire career at United, he retired in 2011 and now he is enjoying job as a commentator for Sky Sports. He won 8 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cups, a Champions League, an Intercontinental Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and two League Cups. He played 19 leagues for United and appeared in total 602 games.

 

 

Ole Gunnar Solskjær


He is currently the manager of Molde FK, but this Norwegian footballer is known as former player of Manchester United. Supporters called him "the baby-faced assassin" or "super-sub" for his coming off the bench to score late goals. In total he played 366 games scoring 126 goals but probably his best goal was in 1999 UEFA Champions League Final where he scored the winning last-minute goal against Bayern Munich, completing a comeback from his injury time and winning The Treble for United.

 

 

Paul Scholes

 
This english footballer has spent his entire career in Manchester United. He retired after season 2010/2011 but after half a year he realized that he missed football and started playing again. Many players considered him as the one of the best players in Premier league and in the world as well. He is known for his accurate passes, strength and vision. However, Scholes has been always criticized for his tackling. He is one of the most booked players in Premier League and Champions League as well.

 

 

Cristiano Ronaldo

 
Ronaldo is a Portuguese footballer and now he is playing for in Spanish La Liga for Real Madrid. His usual position is winger or striker. Cristiano became United player in 2002/2003 season. He was signed from Lisabon for 15 million pounds. In Manchester he was wearing number 7 like other famous united players such as Beckham, Cantona, George Best or Bryan Robson. Ronaldo played 6 season in Manchester scoring 118 goals in 292 games. During this time he won many personal trophies but also trophies with United. Perhaps the best Ronaldo´s achievement in United was Champions League gold medal. In 2009 he join Real Madrid from Manchester United for £80 million. 

 

 

Wayne Rooney


Rooney is an English footballer who play as a striker in United. He was brought to Manchester in summer 2004 from Everton for 25,6 million pounds. In United he has won Champions league, 2 League cups and 4 Premier league titles. Rooney is viewed as one of the best players in the world. "Wazza" as he is known between United supporters is really powerful and strong on the ball and he has amazing shooting from a distance. He is hard working footballer who is never selfish and you can always see the passion about football on him. Rooney has already played 8 seasons for Reds and in 366 games he scored 182 goals.
